About Reporting
Meat Institute packer-processors are invited to take part in an annual member-led, member-driven reporting process to track what’s working, share successes and improve meat and poultry production.
New in 2026: We are introducing an updated platform for annual Meat Institute Reporting designed specifically for the needs of a modern and complex supply chain.
Using leading industry experts and research, the Meat Institute streamlined the annual reporting process, providing focus on only the most important reporting metrics, streamlining customer requests whenever possible. Reporting is now faster and more effective.
Through expert analysis and dialogue, we’ve cut data entry from 500+ individual metrics down to ~50.
These metrics are intended to represent the core information suppliers can report, and customers can more easily understand from across the supply chain. With everyone across the supply chain collaborating on the same core information, achieving goals is easier than ever.
Why should your company participate in reporting?
By taking part, your company can:
- Meet evolving expectations from customers and consumers
- Inform future industry advocacy, education, and policy decisions
- Access aggregated industry data
- Demonstrate commitment to doing responsible practices for people, animals and the environment
Participation is flexible. You choose what to report. You can focus on the areas that matter most to your business.
Reporting Topics
Companies can choose to report across a range of focus areas
